Colleen Miller & Melinda
Huffman, Principals of Miller & Huffman Outcome Architects,
LLC, Winchester, Tennessee, have each made a career-long
commitment to improving health outcomes by developing and
implementing outcomes management programs, systems and tools
for both the hospital and homecare industries.
With over
50 years combined administrative, clinical, and financial
healthcare experience, they came together in 2005 as a
company to assist healthcare providers and vendors with
health outcomes and disease management initiatives through
consultation and outcome-based services and products; the
first being Home Health Evidence-based Fall Prevention,
distributed by the Briggs Corporation. In 2008, Miller &
Huffman launches their premier wound management subscription
service WOCN-Connect and its
revolutionary wound outcomes software, along with their
Disease Management BluePrints™.
Additionally, Miller & Huffman, in collaboration with Team
at Work, developed Health Coaching Made Easy for
Healthcare Providers, the first self-study
Health Coach Certification program designed specifically for
clinicians, therapists, pharmacists and physicians to
improve health outcomes through enhanced patient
self-management of chronic conditions.
Today,
Miller & Huffman are nationally recognized experts in health
outcomes and disease management and have authored countless
articles and several books on the subjects of evidence-based
practice, outcomes and chronic condition management.

Bios
Colleen
Miller, RN, BS, CSBC Principal of Miller & Huffman
Outcome Architects, LLC is an author, writer and speaker
with 28 years of healthcare experience ranging from hospital
administration, to home care executive management.
Colleen's focus for the last eleven years has been disease
management and health outcomes design and integration
including developing disease management programs and
telemedicine initiatives, and building corporate vendor
alliances and partnerships.
She is the author of: ICD-9-CM Coding Quick Reference for
Home Health Clinicians and Managers 1st (2005) and
2nd Editions (2006), Researcher/Developer of the Teletriage
Symptom Reference contained in the Quality Insights Home
Health Telehealth Reference 2006/2007, and a contributing
author of Implementing Outcome-Based Home Care.
She is a graduate of the University of Toledo and Covenant
College with degrees in Nursing and Business.
Melinda
Huffman, BSN, MSN, CCNS and Principal of Miller &
Huffman Outcome Architects, LLC is a nationally known
author, writer and speaker.
Melinda has thirty years experience in hospital and home
care administration, clinical supervision, quality
management and staff development, with fifteen years devoted
to healthcare outcomes management. She is a former Director
of Disease Management for a leading, home health corporation
and Director of Nursing Education, Motlow College in
Lynchburg, TN.
She received her BSN from the University of Alabama,
Birmingham and a MSN in Cardiovascular Clinical
Specialization from the Catholic University of America,
Washington, DC.
Melinda is the author of the homecare best seller:
Implementing Outcome-Based Homecare: A Workbook of OBQI,
Care Pathways and Disease Management and is receiving
excellent reviews for her latest work, Home Health
Outcomes, Pay for Performance, Disease Management: Gold
Nuggets to Success!
